When the Clouds Part

The thing no one tells you is that you will stop feeling inspired at many points in your life.
One day, you wake up and it is like someone poured out all the water from a pitcher. Emptiness.
The comforting thing, if you can call it that, is that it happens to all of us.
The uncomfortable thing is that there is no way of knowing when it will be over, or why it happens.

The way it happens is different for everyone.
For some the ideas stop.
The problem solving.
The solutions.

For others everything starts taking twice the amount of energy.
It's as if a gravitational force were pulling them down.

And for some the ideas don't stop, the energy doesn't stop, but the hope begins to fade.
In order to make creative work, there's a certain level of illusion that must be there.
If we thought about, for example, all the reasons why something can't work then we would never create.
That is why hope is essential, without it the possibilities seem small.

So what can we do, when we are faced with this problem?
When the clouds don't seem to move, and we know the sun is shining behind them but we cannot feel its rays?

There is no cure that I have discovered. But there are small things, little sparks, little moments in the everyday that have helped me feel the light. I wanted to create this series as a way to share my journey to being inspired again. To finding it.

The climbing over the mountain.

The parting of the clouds.
The warmth of the sun.

I hope you'll join me.
