To carry tradition in one hand, and possibility in the other. That is what Cadena Collective embodies. When I met with them to create this series of images, I was inspired by their vision and the intention behind their work. For this project, Cadena cast Paulina Chavez, a Mexican-American actor raised in San Antonio, Texas. Together, we created images that reflect the many threads that form identity. The stories and histories that shape who we are.
